Briton Ferry Town Council would like to congratulate David & Christine Channon of Llansawel Crescent who celebrated their Golden Wedding at home on 23rd May 2020 with a meal for 2 and a few glasses of champagne.
David & Christine first met at the Vernon School Youth Club and were childhood sweethearts during their school years. They got married in 1970 and have 2 daughters Helen & Claire. Their first home was number 2, The Gorge which were 3 storey flats near Heol Morfa and they later moved to their current home a few yards down the road.
David said, ‘We are Grandparents to 4 girls and Great Grandparents to 2 girls. We have loved living in Briton Ferry and have seen many changes in our time, a lot of which I have photographed over the decades. Sadly, we can’t celebrate with our family and friends due to the lockdown.
Facebook has been a godsend and allowed us to keep in touch with everyone. Thanks to family and friends for all the lovely messages and congratulations. We miss you all.
