The Community Centre is built on the site of the fire station. It was built by the Manpower Services Commission, the Youth Training Scheme. It was officially opened on the 12th May 1993, by the then Chairman of the Council, Councillor Don Levens.
The hall has a large foyer off which
is the main hall. In the foyer is the disabled toilet. Off the foyer is the main hall, in which is incorporated a large stage. The hall is capable of holding up to 200, and is the venue for concerts, plays, musicals and parties. There are changing rooms to the side of the stage.
Off the foyer is a corridor leading to the female and male toilet facilities, and finally a lesser hall which is used for meetings and various events.
The first floor consists of the council chamber 
and the office of the Town Clerk. There is also a small room. There are, however, no toilet facilities or disabled access to this floor.
The hall is open almost every day for the use of the public and organisations. The Town clerk is resident at the hall two and a half days each week and available for any queries or guidance.
There are a number of organisations already using the hall. Details of the usage are as follows:-
Mondays : in the morning an art class takes place in the lesser hall.
Evenings the Powell Dance has a dancing school.
Tuesdays : Weight watchers is ongoing in the morning.
The Lady Pensioners follow in the afternoon.
On the second Tuesday Mcmillan Cancer hold a coffee morning.
Wednesday : On the first Wednesday Llansawel W.I. in the evening
Oddfellows also meet in the Council Chamber in the evening.
On the second, third and fourth Wednesday Crafty Stitchers meet in the afternoon
On the second Wednesday The Stitch Club meet in the afternoon.
Thursday : On the third Thursday The Town Council hold their Monthly Meeting in the Council Chamber.
