Briton Ferry community celebrated HM The Queen’s Jubilee in style with a huge Parade. Leading the parade were ‘The Briton Ferry Pageboy’s’ marching band who reunited after more than 30 years for the occasion. They were followed by the Pram Parade which the town has not witnessed for 30 years, there were over 30 prams entered into the parade and the result was an incredible display of talent. The parade started at Vernon Place Community Hub with Mark Adams ‘Oddballs Choir’ singing popular songs and the atmosphere was electric, bringing the whole community together. The parade went right through the town which had been decorated with bunting from the ‘Bunting Bunnies’ a sewing group led by Carole Davie & Gail Phillips ending at Briton Ferry RFC where a whole day of entertainment took place. This included Rock bands, Briton Ferry Silver Band, Irish Dancers and Academy Arts Dancing group. There were stalls, face painting and bouncy castles. The event attracted thousands of people who enjoyed the lovely weather and all that Ferry Fest had to offer. Thanks go to all the volunteers who made this day possible. BBC Wales were at the ground and the event made National News which is great for Briton Ferry Community. There are so many pictures of the event some have been added here and links are available below to enjoy.
