‘A Walk Through the Seasons’ Mural Unveiled in Jersey Park

The unveiling ceremony of the Mural ‘A Walk through the Seasons’  took place Tuesday September 14th 2021. The mural which has been a joint project between Ysgol Carreg Hir and the Friends of Jersey Park will be displayed in the children’s play park.

It has been funded through the Building Safe and Resilient Communities -Innovate and Create Fund.  This project has involved much more than the artwork.  It has been about cohesion in our community, the importance of working in partnership with others, and about learning what it is to be an ethical informed citizen. The pupils have also worked very hard to research the industrial history of the park which is depicted on the mural, and are really proud of their achievements.

The event was well attended by SWP Neath Post Talbot, David Rees AM, NPTCBC, NPTCVS, Barry Kaines Briton Ferry Town Council Mayor and Town Councillors, Headteacher and Teachers of the Pupils at Ysgol Carreg Hir  who painted the mural with Greta Jones & Irene Thomas of Friends of Jersey Park and the wonderful gardeners of Jersey Park who keep it looking so beautiful.
